Careerometer
Use the Careerometer below to find out more about pay rates in different jobs. As well as providing hourly, weekly and annual pay figures, for each occupation, Careerometer gives details of present numbers employed in the UK and projected future growth or reduction in numbers employed. It also provides prediction of replacement demand – an important measure showing how many new employees are likely to be needed based on those leaving an occupation or retiring. It provides examples of different industries where those in that occupation are likely to be employed as well as a brief description of the occupation itself.
Retraining
Depending on the skills you need, it might be that you can learn these by yourself! Did you know that you can gain lots of knowledge for free? There are a number of websites which provide free courses which are often referred to as ‘Massive Online Open Courses’, or MOOCS. These MOOCS provide training on a range of subjects from computer coding, to finance and engineering.
